On Saturday, the Hagerstown Suns Fan Club will announce its second annual Hall of Fame Class. In a first for the organization, the inductees will be revealed live at the Winter Meeting and Hall of Fame Dinner. The announcement will occur during the meeting portion of the event, prior to dinner.
Some changes have been made in the voting process since a year ago, when eight inductees were enshrined in the inaugural class. The group this year will consist of the top five vote earners from the Fan Club's ballot, which includes teams, players, managers and coaches.
Players are not eligible for the Hall of Fame until a full three seasons after their final Hagerstown appearance, meaning that the earliest members of this ballot come from the 2009 Suns. A player whose only time with the Suns came on a rehab assignment is also not included.
All ballots have been submitted and the final totals have been tabulated. Between now and Saturday, we will do our best to keep these five inductees a complete secret. However, we still welcome any predictions or opinions on who will, and should, make our Hall of Fame on Saturday.

I am so looking forward to the Suns Fan Club Winter Meeting. I get a chance to talk baseball and meet fellow Suns fans.
ReplyDeleteI hope one or both of the eligible players with the initials "BB" got eleceted by the committee.
